Everything's Coming Up Daisies

Daisies are such simple and cheerful flowers. They are the first flowers we drew as children. I have lots of different versions of daisies in my garden.

This gerber daisy was fortunate not to have been mistaken for a weed and pulled out before it could flower. It's hard to tell this guy from a weed that looks very similar before they flower.
I love the color of this osteospermum daisy. This is a new plant in my garden, so I don't know how it will cope with our long hot summers.
You just have to love a daisy that grows on a bush. The marguerite daisy has that classic daisy look. I also have the version with the yellow petals, but it hasn't bloomed yet.
Tiny dahlberg daisies are always cheerful. I love the smell of the plant.
My all-time favorite is still the classic oxeye daisy--the good old-fashioned he-loves-me-he-loves-me-not daisy-chain daisy. They are all in bud, just getting ready to bloom.
Stay tuned for the blooming of my daisies.

Lovely daisies, Deborah! The gerberas do indeed look like weeds, don't they? I think the foliage kinda resembles dwarf dandelion, which is a common weed in my garden. I have to remember where I have them. My osteospermums do indeed melt away in summer...around August or so (I can't remember exactly when). They will then appear dead. But if you don't accidentally pull the new growth (which also looks weedy), they'll be back for you to enjoy in spring.

Never met a daisy I didn't love either, Deborah. They're like big happy smiles. Gerberas are only annuals/houseplants here, but I grow a variety of other daisies and daisy-like perennials in my garden.

Deborah - I love daisies, especially osteospermum. I buy them (as annuals of course) each season - but they don't last for long... I remain hopeful this year!

Lovely daisies! The first two are my favorites. Very unique color! Now I know what is missing from MY garden :)

Those mauve daisies look like my African daisies. If they are then are just about indestructible.
